- 18.04.2024 16:00: Kick-off Meeting
- Motivation, seminar structure & grading, schedule, topic & registration. Zoom link
- 22.04.2024: Deadline for Seminar Registration
- Send a mail to Mert Tiftikci including a personal motivation letter for the seminar participation and related experience. This should not be longer than one page (but the shorter, the better ;) ). Please also indicate the topics you want to work on (either one provided or a paper that fits the domain of this course). Also, state if you are ok with being a part of a group (or have one already with up to 3 people).
- 26.04.2024: Registration Confirmation
- We inform you via mail (or Moodle), whether your registration was successful. If you registered for the course and did not receive a registration confirmation mail, please contact Mert Tiftikci ASAP.
- 02.05.2024: Topic Assignment
- Here, the topic does not have to be one of the suggested ones. It can also be a paper from the list we provide, or one that fits the domain in general. In that case, the paper you are assigned will represent the core of your topic, and you are expected to build around that. Project route and groups will be prioritized.
- 09.06.2024: Literature Review Submission Deadline
- Submit your summary (1–2 pages + references) through Moodle upload.
- 16.06.2024: Peer Review and Advisor Feedback
- Your literature reviews will be reviewed by your fellow students and the advisors.
- 20.06.2024: Presentation of the Work so Far
- 04.07.2024: Final Report Draft Submission
- This is not mandatory but highly recommended if you want to get some feedback before the final submission.
- 20.07.2024: Final Report Submission Deadline
- By this date, the final document (PDF) and LaTeX source codes should be submitted through Moodle upload. For the project route, this is a milestone but not the final submission.
- TBD (~ end of semester): Project Submission Deadline
- Submission of the final project report (PDF and LaTeX) via Moodle and implementation via GitHub.
For general writing and presentation advice, you can check out the DAIMPL web page (sections 4.2–4.4).
Attendance via Zoom
Being aware that video conferences can feel less natural than in-person courses, we are confident that we still can provide well-working interactive sessions. Please help us with your motivation and consider the following points. Let‘s try to make this a great experience for all of us. :)
Please check your setup before the meeting. We start all calls 10 minutes early, where you can do so. Moreover, you can use the Zoom audio settings dialog and zoom.us/test.
Please connect before the meeting starts.
Please join using your full name. If you use a nickname or pseudonym, tell the advisors (needed for grading).
Please join with a microphone and a camera: It improves the overall experience in interactive parts.
Please mute your microphone when not speaking.
Interact: ask questions and involve yourself into the discussion.
